Words are powerful.
We know that. The idea is not a new one – our words have the power to hurt or heal. To tear down or build up.
I love words in the literary sense, exploring creatively their power to bring something on a page to life, stirring imagination.
Sometimes a different word sparks new thought.
This last month a word has me thinking differently.
I have embraced the idea well of being a “carrier of God’s Kingdom”. We are all Kingdom Carriers – I was an early adopter of that phrase, have preached it, tweeted it and as best as I know how – have tried to live out its truth.
But I read a phrase last month that moved this concept into something more. I’m not even sure if it was a book, a blog or a Facebook post so I can’t even cite it at all – but whoever shared it has sparked this thought.
We are DISTRIBUTORS of the Kingdom of God.
This instantly moved this idea into a different zone. A zone of great responsibility. It’s one thing to carry His kingdom – but to distribute it, is a call to action. The weight of this has upset my mojo. As I go through the mundane of life at times I can genuinely forget I am on assignment.
What I carry, I am called to give away.
What you carry, you all called to give away.
The distribution of what we have, both physically and spiritually, serves one purpose. To show the world who God really is and replicate his generous heart of love toward a broken, hurting world.
Short and sweet with this thought – in this instance our actions speak greater volume than words on a page.
Today – go distribute what he has placed within you.
If only carried – it’s wasted.
